TimeTools network digital wall clock devices sit directly on an ethernet IP network via a standard RJ45 jack plug using CAT5 cabling. The devices can obtain an IP address via DHCP or can be supplied with a static IP address. The network digital wall clock units utilise power over ethernet (POE) in the same manner as IP phones. The PoE supplies power to the digital wall clock via the standard CAT5 network cable. If your network is not PoE enabled, a small low-cost in-line power supply (midspan converter) can be provided to power the clock. PoE increases the installation flexibility and reduces installation costs since a mains spur is not required at each clock location. Indeed the units can be powered from mid-span converters located in the computer room.
